Toksu Kota Singa

Kunjungan saudara jauh dari Kota Singa sememangnya ditunggu tambah pula dalam Syawal yang mulia. Toksu Kassim, kini 80 tahun merupakan bapa saudara abah yang bongsu menetap selamanya di negeri yang ada F1 waktu malam. Menurut abah, ini merupakan kunjungan Toksu ke KL yang ketiga sebelumnya 1987 dan 1989.

Kesempatan berhubung melalui telefon dengan Toksu pada petang Sabtu membolehkan kami membuat sedikit persediaan sementelahan abah juga ternanti-nanti kedatangan Toksu selepas 20 tahun.

Masih segar diingatan, ketika ibu telah memasuki labor room lepas zohor, abah menunggu di dalam bilik ward KBMC sedekad yang lepas, sambil mengulangi ayat-ayat dari Yusuf dan Maryam mendoakan kesejahteraan untuk ibu dan anak. Abah melangkah ke masjid Kampong Baru menyahut panggilan Asar dan kembali menunggu tapi sianak kecil ini masih nyenyak beradu di rahim. Sesekali abah ke bilik bersalin menenangkan ibu yang kesakitan contraction, doktor bertugas pun tak kelihatan.

Bayi kecil ini abah azan dan iqamahkan sambil dibacakan ayat-ayat dari As Sharah. Esok, abah daftarkan dan bermulalah perjalanan Siti Hajar.

Back to the future, adapun selepas dua Ramadhan menyambut detik 7 Oktober ini berbuka di naili's, kini ibu belikan kek untuk dijamu bersama rakan di sri alhuda.  Abah seperti biasa hanya memerhati dari jauh...

Fi Amanillah Abu & Munirah

It has been 3 days since our nephew and niece Abu Bakar and Munirah Saadah taken their longest route yet to the Land of the Prophets, Egypt to pursue their studies. According to father Hamdan, they will be taking medicine at Zagazig University (Zaqazig University Hospitals) which we suppose will take five good years to complete.

Being the first anak buah to go overseas we hurried to KLIA after Isya' last Monday to bid goodbye to both of them. The sending off is important simply because the feeling that I personally have quite an attachment especially to Abu since he's still a baby and even until last year, he was the one who performed the azan before me and maktam left for hajj. Nevermind whether he noticed or not surely that's not important but I was also at Putrajaya for his first day at SAS in 2003. I just hope both Abu & Angah would adapt well with the new world - albeit as historical as Melako - far away from family and be able to fully concentrate in the future undertakings.
